The Luggage Guide for Airport Transfers: What Actually Fits
By Airport Transfer Toronto Editorial · Published February 22, 2026 · Updated June 5, 2026 · 5 min read

A brutally honest look at what fits in a sedan, an SUV, and a Sprinter — with real bag counts.
Sedan reality
A large executive sedan (Lincoln Continental, Cadillac XTS, Mercedes E-Class) fits two large checked bags plus two carry-ons in the trunk with room to close cleanly. A third checked bag needs the front passenger footwell or a rooftop, neither of which we recommend.
SUV reality
A GMC Yukon or Cadillac Escalade fits up to five large checked bags in the cargo area with the third row folded down. Third row up? Two large bags and a few smalls.
Sprinter reality
A 14-passenger Sprinter with full seating has room for roughly one small carry-on per person plus a few large bags in the aisle. If you need seats and heavy luggage, drop the passenger count.
Be honest at booking
Every airport transportation complaint we've received in 15 years traces back to underestimating luggage. Count your bags before you book and share the count.
Frequently asked questions
What if I bring more than I said?
We'll do our best on the day, but a vehicle upgrade at pickup depends on availability.
