When BUF beats Pearson, bridge choice, wait times, and what to pack for the border.
When BUF beats Pearson
US domestic and Caribbean fares out of BUF often run hundreds of dollars less than Pearson, especially on Southwest and JetBlue. Even after the chauffeur cost, families of four can save meaningfully. Business travellers with tight schedules usually stick with Pearson.
Peace Bridge vs. Rainbow Bridge vs. Lewiston
Peace Bridge (Fort Erie ↔ Buffalo) is the default — fastest to BUF. Rainbow Bridge (Niagara Falls ON ↔ NY) makes sense if you're already at the Falls. Lewiston is a rarely-crowded backup when both are backed up. We monitor all three live.
Border wait times
Off-peak: 5–15 minutes. Friday evening or Sunday afternoon: 45–90 minutes. Long weekends: worse. We build in buffer time based on live CBP reports.
What to pack
Valid passport (or NEXUS) for every passenger including infants. Proof of onward travel helps. If you're bringing gifts, know the CBP declaration threshold.
Frequently asked questions
Do you cross the border with me?
Yes — our chauffeur drives you through the border and delivers you to BUF's terminal curbside.
Can I bring my kids' car seats?
Yes; we can also supply seats on request.
